School-Community Partnerships

TPS recognizes the importance of working in partnership with families and the community to provide the best possible educational experience for the city's youth.  Please visit individual school sites for more information about Parent-Teacher organizations in the district schools.  Each school is expected to have a Parent-School Student compact which defines roles and responsibilities and invites families to be part of the school's improvement efforts.  Each year, families will be asked to complete a school satisfaction survey to provide feedback on how well they feel the school is performing.  The site contains some resources for promoting family and community involvement in the schools.

TPS partners with many locally based organizations including TECC (Torrington Early Childhood Collaborative), Brooker Memorial, Susan B. Anthony Project, McCall Foundation, Family Strides, Charlotte Hungerford Hospital, Girl Scouts of America, Torrington Library, the Torrington Historical Society, and many others to provide programs and services for our students.
